In conversations with dentists and through extensive research, it has come to our attention that children with developmental disabilities encounter significant challenges during routine dental cleanings and procedures, primarily stemming from overstimulation. This difficulty often leads to a scenario where these children are unable to undergo necessary dental interventions, resulting in suboptimal oral hygiene. In some cases, the situation becomes severe enough that emergency room visits become necessary.
To address this critical issue, Kaizen Family Dental and Spectrum Empowerment have joined forces to introduce an innovative initiative known as Dental Day. This collaborative effort aims to provide a supportive environment where children can familiarize themselves with the sensory aspects of a dental setting, including the tactile sensations, sounds, and visual elements. In addition to acclimating them to the dental environment, Dental Day also focuses on educating these children about oral hygiene and overall dental health.

By creating a comprehensive and inclusive program, Dental Day not only seeks to alleviate the challenges posed by overstimulation but also endeavors to empower children with developmental disabilities to actively engage in maintaining their oral health. Through this partnership, Kaizen Dental and Spectrum Empowerment aspire to make a lasting impact on the well-being of these children, promoting a positive and accessible approach to dental care.
Immerse yourself in a unique opportunity to explore the dental office, its equipment, and procedures at Kaizen Family Dental (7665 Monarch Ct, West Chester Township, OH 450690).
Kids can get hands-on experience, feeling, trying, and exploring various dental procedures and hygiene practices. Our dedicated team of dentists and staff will be on hand to provide support. Additionally, our trained high school volunteers will showcase these experiences for participants on Dental Day, making it an informative and engaging event.
Given the limitations of our facility, we can accommodate only twelve children for the upcoming Dental Day. However, if you are unable to secure a spot this time, rest assured that we have plans to run this program quarterly. This ensures that more opportunities will be available for children to participate in subsequent sessions, allowing us to extend the benefits of Dental Day to a greater number of individuals with developmental disabilities. Your interest and participation are highly valued, and we look forward to welcoming more children in the future events of this impactful initiative.
